I come from Manitoba, Canada.
My license expired in February.
I was not with the car.
I just need to know whether I am accused of, or a written test or something like that.
I would like to know before to renew it.

Every state is different, but I know that if I lived in Mississippi, was a day too late to renew my license and I pay a dollar. All I had to do, is done for my photo, then wait, wait again for the pressure.
Now that I live in Tennessee, I say that I can get my driver's license, but if it runs longer than 6 months, I have to put all the vision tests: written, and the opportunity to road test. Mine has not expired, only the transfer from one state to another.
I'm sure there's a price, but not much, but do not act promptly. You can send a signed affidavit that you and why not renewed, but it could be cheaper than paying the penalty rate will receive.
I had to make one of these statements before, I do not renew a plate of a motorcycle, and he is 2 years later. It was a kind of an agreement affidavit.
